                       Faith Given is what we’re Responsible For

 “For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him.” Romans 12:3 RSV

How often we might ask our Lord; “Increase My Faith!” Our Lord’s apostles asked the same question often, I’m sure. We’re witness to that from all three of the synoptic gospels. We must be discerning to recognize, when we call out to Him over something close to our heart, God will provide to us according the measure that will bring Him honor. Whether it’s a prayer petition, or asking God to demonstrate His power through us; as measuring out faith, He will provide only what He knows we can handle.

This does not define itself as to believe God will not provide, but for us to know and receive wisdom to discern: God might have something better than we’re asking him for. Even in demonstration our being transparent and trustworthy. We know God listens to our heart, but is our heart always ready and strong enough to accept?

How much over the years I’ve learned, seeking more time with our Lord reading, meditating, and memorizing God written promises, concerns and burdens on my heart brought revelation, as God measuring out His faith to me.

Indeed, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
