Words Once Spoken Are Gone Forever, Never To Be Retrieved

A Lesson Learned. 

She spoke harsh and sharp words in the heat of the moment. 

Words quickly blurted out like knives and bullets, 

That relieved the frustrating emotions of that moment. 

WORDS spoken in anger are like 

dandelion seeds blown in the wind 

which once spoken are gone forever, never to be retrieved. 

which once spoken can only be forgiven, not  forgotten

Ah, It felt good, 

As that rush of words released 

Her raw emotions and the pent up frustrations.

But was it worth it? 

Now that he is gone, 

Regret and remorse is all that remains. 

She cannot forgive herself.

Now, all she wishes is to have that last conversation with him 

That scares me, as I am reminded that 

it could happen to me.

My life is also brief and uncertain.

It is but a vapor that appears for a while and then vanishes. 

I need to remember. that no one is guaranteed a tomorrow. 

A question that I must ask myself

Whenever I have a minor or major spat with my wife,

Is this spat really that important? 

Will it matter 5 years from now? 

Will I like my friend, 

Speak harsh and sharp words 

In the heat of the moment because it feels good 

but later question the value of my behavior. 

Will I like my friend, have regret and remorse   

As I contemplate the free flowing words

That I spoke in anger, but will take to my grave

Will I like my friend, realize that what happened, 

Does not or will not matter an hour from now? 

Perhaps before I open my mouth, I need to ask myself. 

Does it matter?  Will it matter? 

Will I remember what I spoke so vehemently 

And animatedly one hour from now? 

If I am not careful 

I may also be left with Regret and Remorse 

For loose words and emotions expressed

In the heat of the moment

I guess she will have to wait till 

she gets to heaven to tell him   "

I am sorry, I did not mean it." 

Thank goodness that in HEAVEN

In our new bodies, there will be no more shedding of tears 

It is only while we occupy this body that tears will be shed.
