We all must have known people, us included with them, who have faced adversities in their lives. It is interesting to see, under such situations, how people run to become more aware of what Satan and his works are, what curses are all about and how they work!
Even those who seem to be spiritually groomed react with similar faith on curses. So, they carry the same amount of faith on the Word as well on Satan, knowingly or unknowingly. I had a chance to read a book on curses, given to me by someone. Since long it was lying with me unread when one fine day I finally read its table of contents. It started tabling what curses are, types of curses and then a chapter that said, 'curses from God'! I opened the particular chapter to see what the author advocates. It said; God sends curses to teach us, to bring us closer to Him and many other points. What a blame on our Father God!
And it's amazing to see that some people, running their ministries, are advocating such false and trying to convince people on this. What is it that we need to concentrate on – the blessings of God or the curses from Satan? Along with this we also need to know where are the curses sent from – God or Satan? Could you ever think of cursing your child to teach him something or to bring him closer to you or to make him obedient? Disciplining a child through instructions is something else which cannot be compared with cursing. And if you still believe on curses then how do you stand for the finished work of Christ? How can one have equal amount of faith on both the things? And how would one justify what he believes on? These are strange things which are happening around us.
People are affected by curses because even Satan is at work but it affects only those who believe they would. God wants us to enjoy our lives through His freedom, under His grace, without any fear. When we concentrate on Satan more than on God then we do not live our life the way God has given us. Life is not about being fearful but being bold in the Lord and living by faith. When you concentrate on both the things then you do not get to know what to stand on and so you live a confused life and in the light of the problems that you face you are not able to enjoy the blessings, God showers on you on a daily basis! We all must have had a phase of fear; fear for our relationships, for finances, for health and much more. Some people carry this burden so much that they are not able to realise their blessings and cherish them. They would crib for their situation, sulk and worsen their situation by following how the devil wants them to feel about their lives. Enjoy your life.
Times of trials will always be there for a child of God. God has not promised peace without pain (Jn 16:33) but has promised to be with us, to never leave us nor forsake us (Deu 31:6). There will be many things from Satan to stop you from coming closer to God. He will try to pull you in his pit as he fears the army of God and the power he gives to his believers. Why would Satan attack someone who is already in pit? Temptations to do evil are never from God, (James 1:13-14) don't ever blame your Father God with such allegations, who poured out his complete wrath on His only son Jesus; who paid the price for our sins on the cross. When you still advocate that curses are coming from God you are defiling the Word and what Christ did for us all. If you believe in the finished work of Christ, you cannot carry the same amount of faith on curses also. When you are under trials, do not run to read such things which pull you away from the grace of God. Run to God instead, to His Word, pray in order to fight the tactics of devil.
Entertain such thoughts which tell you that you are the child of God; loved and cared for every single moment of your life. In everything give thanks (1Th 5:18), for in all things God works for the good of those who love him (Rom 8:28). Amen.
