Encouragement

God's timing is the right timing. As the old Jimmy Jones song goes:

Oh, you need timing a tick a tick a tick a
Good timing a tock a tock a tock a tock a
Timing is the thing
It's true good timing brought me to you
If little little David hadn't grabbed that stone
Lying there on the ground

Instead of the other way around

But he had

But she had

Awhile back, before the Lord took my dear friend and companion Sandi, she wanted to die, to have the Lord take her. But it is His timing, not ours, that's right. She didn't see any purpose for her life and was not content with her situation. Sandi was chronically tired, could not longer go to church or to community meals for the homeless and needy. It was a struggle to get her to the doctor for her cancer treatment.

But I kept reading the Bible, The Daily Bread, and summaries of our pastor's sermons to her. Sandi took a turn for the worse, and ended up in a nursing home, where she was mostly bed ridden, except for an occasional trip down the hall in the Jerry Chair. I continued reading Christian materials to her. She had to be fed, which was mostly done by me.

Although her circumstances got worse, her attitude improved! Unlike some of the nursing home residents, who were bitter and took it out on the nurses and their aides, Sandi remained pleasant. She returned greetings, smiled at the staff, and even thanked them! What a witness!

This encouraged me!

Sandi had the will to live, but, after she could no longer fight the remaining cancer, which had crept back in the brain, the Lord took her. In His timing!

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. Acts 1:7
