Encouragement
Dear friend,
Many times we fall short of God’s best because we lack the capacity to make the right blend or mix of prayer and faith. God’s reward comes to those who have faith; or believe in Him enough to seek him diligently. Heb.11:6. It’s the prayer of faith that heals the sick. James 5:15. It’s never only prayer or only faith, but an equal mix of both, administered bountifully.
In addition to this, even our Christian character suffers terribly without the right blend of prayer and faith. For example, great faith without great praying make us blow up – proud, boastful, haughty and arrogant! While great faith with the appropriate mix of great praying make us grow up – balanced, level headed, meek and mature! Giving equal emphasis, to both the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Great faith without intensive intercession make us selfishly competitive – carnal, selfish, self centered, and rashly aggressive! But great faith coupled with the right dosage of great praying make us sensitive – to the promptings of the Holy Spirit for specific directions to our unique destiny. We become confident, focused, and at rest. We receive the capacity to be in control and at peace with our distinct roles in life and ministry.
Great faith without great praying make us copy cats, who settle for secondary visions. Always content as long as we can accomplish exactly what our mentor, hero or competitor has accomplished. Obviously oblivious to the fact that God is usually dissatisfied when we are satisfied, complacent and lethargic. This state robs us of the capacity to discover and even venture into the unknown, uncommon or unpopular terrains where great results are.
But the equal combination of great praying and great faith, make us originals. We will never settle for secondary visions since great praying provokes fresh, unique and untapped insights, while great faith grants the audacity to venture into them. Always dissatisfied with the status quo, and believes that God’s mercies, insights and visions are new every morning.
The effect of the results we accomplish through faith alone will be short lived. But that which we achieve through the combination of seasoned, intensive intercession and indomitable faith are sure to last a life time and even into eternity. This is the mystery of the great mix of prayer and faith.
Yet on the other hand, effective prayer alone with little or no faith input will result in delayed accomplishments, leading to frustration, complaining, mechanical routine, traditions of men and despondency. God’s awesome power is generated, but not activated by the force of faith to accomplish the results! Fear, procrastination and hesitation are insidious enemies of our faith. Pray effectually, and act immediately in spite of your negative feelings, circumstances and situation, the ultimate result will amaze you. Over analysis leads to paralysis.
Through great faith, sustained by great praying, we become pathfinders and not path beaters! By this divine and supernatural experience, we become very bold, passionate and aggressive but absolutely obedient enough to introduce, develop and nurture the new and novel. This is how we will take our Churches, organizations, communities or families to the next level with God, when the old comes to its inevitable conclusion as all visions do.
This disposition balances the demonstration of the gifts with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Without this very important mix, Christianity becomes yet another marketing or philosophical principle of success meant for only our earthly endeavours.
Only the childlike heart that strongly desires to obey God absolutely, will appreciate this great mixture of the gifts and the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our daily walk with the Lord through the balanced and appropriate dosage of great praying and faith. – Lk.10:21.
Have a marvelous day in God’s awesome presence.
