There were two men, magicians for Pharoah that withstood Moses back in his day.
At the kings command they mimicked several miracles of God that Moses had performed by faith.

When Moses took his rod and threw it down, it became a mighty serpent, slithering across the land.
The magicians threw down their rods which became serpents, but Moses serpent eat theirs before he took it back in his hand.

Even the few enchantments they were allowed to replicate only made judgment for Pharoah worse.
These two men added strength to and intensified what was already nigh unbearable as part of Egypt’s curse.

The day did finally come when they were exposed as frauds, for they could not reproduce the plague, they had no more time.
They had resisted truth their last time, their folly was manifest to all they will proceed no further with their corrupt minds.

We as Christians don’t want to be of that crowd that ever learns, but is never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
The Bible should be our guide, and Jesus our example to follow, and he wants to lead us to old age even from our youth.

How about you? Do you second guess the authority figures that the Lord has placed in your life?
It could be a worker second guessing his supervisor, or a husband that is not trusted by his wife.

Do you really believe God has given you a rule of life that has enough light to illuminate a dark, slippery, winding way?
A way lined with jagged rocks, deep chasms and steep cliffs off the side, one misstep could ultimately lead to one being slain.

There are plenty in this age that resist the truth, and the Bible still calls on its believers to buy the truth and sell it not.
We purchase this by making our moderation known in a dark age, standing with other saints regardless the cost.

There are two different kind of men portrayed here, and I believe as for me and my house, we choose to stand with the Lord.
I spent years withstanding truth with Jannes and Jambres much to my shame, the remainder of my days I would count it a great blessing if he would allow me to live according to his word.
