Encouragement
We all know that to the world we may be one person but to one person we are the whole world. We are special to them in a way that no one else can be. Similarly, the person who is special to us is the only person who means more than the world to us.
At any given time, we want to be with this person at every stage of their life, to share every event and moment. We want to accompany them wherever they venture. We are ready to travel all the way joyfully just to behold their presence.
In fact, even before the person can arrive, we feel the arrival of their presence from a distance with a leap of our heart. The emotions that drift across our face and eyes when with our special person is matchless and out beats any other sentiment we can experience in life.
Life has many phases, the good, the sentimental and the true. The only person who can walk with us through all these phases is the one who is special to us and to whom we are special. Because only one heart can understand the language of the other's heart.
When hearts walk together on the lovely path of love, the glow that emits is as bright as the neon lights of heaven.
If human beings can have such a close relationship on earth, then how much more higher and deeper is the relationship of the Trinity where the Father, Son and Spirit all dwell in one.
We read in Hebrews Chapter 1, Verses 1:4; "In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs."
Again in verse 5:6; "What is man, O God that you should think of him; mere man that you should care for him? You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honour, and made him ruler over all things."
Here we see that it was Jesus who was for a while made lower than the angels so that through the grace of God He should suffer and die for the whole of mankind. It is He alone who is crowned with glory and honour because of the death that he suffered on the Cross for the sins of the whole world.
He has called us His brothers and we are all God's children through the saving grace of Christ who reconciled us back to God. He came in human nature to be one with us and save us for Himself. Even the angels in heaven look in awe at what God has done for man.
Just as the Father is special to the Son and likewise the Son to the Father and the Spirit to both of them; we too are so special in the eyes of our Father that He was ready to sacrifice His only Son to redeem mankind.
All the Prophets were special and close to the heart of God. They all had a mission to fulfill. It is said in Hebrews 3:3 that a man who builds the house receives more honour than the house itself. Moses and all the other prophets were faithful in God's house as a servant paving the way for Christ to come. They spoke of the things that God would do in the future but when Christ came he was faithful as the Son in charge of God's house. And, we are the house entrusted to His care. We can rest assured that Christ will not allow his house to go in ruins but will forever see that it stands as a building tall and strong filled with His very grace and strength.
Since God cares for us so much, we too ought to show our care and concern for one another.
There is a beautiful catchy message that says; "If you have a tender message, Or a loving word to say, Do not wait till you forget it, But whisper it today; The tender word unspoken, The letter never sent, The long forgotten messages, The wealth of love unspent- For these some hearts are breaking, For these some loved ones wait; So show them that you care for them, Before it is too late."
Since love is the beauty of the soul, in a gesture akin to a handshake, let our hearts embrace and whisper the life changing and soul energizing words at every given chance that we get.
When one heart whispers, the other heart is silent listening to that whisper and awaiting its own turn to whisper the words that always remains suspended in the space between them with a special charm of its own.
We are in the days leading to the Holy Week where we relive the Passion of Our Lord Jesus which took place on this very earth over two thousand years ago. We need to keep this remembrance foremost in our life and never forget the Cross because when we ascend from this earth we have to return to the One Person who is special to every human being in the world. Where else will we go but back into His loving arms?
A king once held a lavish feast for all the children in his kingdom and asked the kids to choose whatever they wanted from what lay before them. While all the children ran towards the gifts and sweets, one lone boy ran towards the king, hugged him and said that He wanted only the King because he knew if he had the king, he would have got the best gift.
This is exactly what we all need. We just need the King. If we have him, we have the entire planet and the grace of eternal life in the world to come.
