This Teacher’s Challenges

As God began revealing to me that He wanted me to write, He began showing me many challenges that Bible teachers face today. These challenges fall into several areas, and I’ve divided them up into various categories. I’ve also given each of those challenges simple names to help you remember them. The stories are true but the names of the people have been left out to keep from putting people on the spot. Besides, the names of those involved are not necessary in order for you to get the message, and glean something from each story.

By sharing these experiences and the outcomes, I hope to encourage Christian workers to have the faith that believes God will take care of His people regardless of the circumstances. Many of these circumstances were difficult, unexpected, and beyond my control. I do not know what will happen in the future and it’s impossible for any teacher to predict. Yet, in all of these circumstances, God protected the students and me from getting injured or worse. He was indeed faithful to take care of us.

As you read these testimonies look for God’s intervention in the challenges. Also look for lessons learned that will help you as you move forward in serving God. Perhaps you are also a Bible teacher, Pastor, or other person who is helping equip the saints for service. There is something to be gleaned from reading these stories whether it be a lesson for a teacher or a humorous story that brings joy to someone’s heart.

I pray that you, God’s servants, will benefit from hearing these testimonies, and that they will equip you to meet future difficult circumstances with the assurance God is with you. I pray the stories will enable you to meet your future difficult situations with perseverance, joy, and a stronger desire to seek and bring pleasure to God.

God alone draws people and saves them. But we are His instruments, and if we don’t tell others, who will? God wants us to share His gospel (the Good News) with others. He uses our personalities, preparations, and testimonies of what He has done in our lives to touch and teach the hearts of others, and to train new disciples.

So read and enjoy these small stories, and see if you have experienced any of these challenges as you have served the Lord. Perhaps you even have some of your own stories that you can share with others.

Jesus, when He ministered to His disciples, told them,“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer;  I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 KJV)
