Preface

Before the foundations of the world, God knew me. He created me and led me down a path of life, eventually drawing me into His loving arms. God’s leading began one day when I was preschooler. That day, a friend, whose identity I don’t recall, took me to church in Moyie Springs, a small village where I was living, near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. That day at church someone gave me a little pink Bible with gold-edged pages and a few pictures, including one of Jesus hanging on a cross. I had never heard about Jesus before, nor had I opened a Bible. Yet, somehow I knew this was a special book. 

From that day on, I asked babysitters and others to read that Bible to me. As a result, I came to know the most precious gift of all—Jesus—who is revealed in its pages. I held on to the little pink Bible until about three years ago, when two very special little girls passed through my life. I gave the little pink Bible to them, and prayed that God’s Holy Spirit would draw them as He did me.

God miraculously transformed my life. He forgave my sins, encouraged me, lifted me out of the darkest pit, and made me a new creation in Christ.  He brought me out of a life of sin and continual depression, and He gave me a new life, built upon the Rock (Himself), which is filled with love, joy, peace, and many other blessings and promises for the future.  

God has restored my hope, and my life by divinely interceding in my life and stopping me from committing suicide because I thought my life was hopeless and worthless; I wanted to end my pain and suffering, and all I could see or believe for was more depression, pain, and suffering. I could see no end to the bad and no hope for a better future. Little did I know God was there watching me, loving me, and knowing what I was about to do. God stopped me in my tracks because He loved me, and He had a future plan for my life. (He has one for your life too.)

Testimonies, Tips, and Tidbits began as a collection meant to be put in a book. But God has shown me they would be more profitable used separately as encouragement for His people. As you read through these testimonies, know they are true stories about me and the lessons God has taught me, as well as times He has miraculously worked in my life. My desire is that people will see how God has worked in my life, and realize He can work in their lives too. Secondly, that more people will know God is real and personal, and He cares about us and will be faithful to take care of us. Finally, my desire is God will be glorified for what He has done.

I am alive today to testify to the goodness of God, and to recount to you some of the wondrous things God has done in my life. As the Psalmist said, “They are more than can be numbered.” For me, they are also too numerous to remember, but I will share some of the things I can remember with you.

Many people have read the Bible yet refuse to believe that God exists because they don’t see evidence of Him. Yet like the wind, God is invisible and powerful. As you see the powerful wind blow leaves down the street, knock down trees, and even form hurricanes—so you can see evidence of God’s existence in the creation, the divine intervention in nature, and in His workings in the lives of His people. The evidence is there but one must have an open heart and mind to come to see and know the truth.. 

Revelation 12:10-11 says, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘‘Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ; For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.’”

Jesus is the Lamb that overcame the power of the accuser, sin, death, and the works of evil for us. Sharing our testimonies can help others overcome obstacles, bring glory to God, and—as the Scripture says—help overcome the evil one.

I pray God will work through the stories that follow this preface to minister to you. Only God knows your needs, and how to encourage you, heal you, provide for your needs, and help you overcome the arrows of the evil one in your life. Only God is big enough to overcome evil, and God takes the evil and makes something good come out of it. God is worthy to receive all of the glory, honor, and praise—just because of who He is. May God get the glory for all of His wondrous works.

May we share our testimonies with others, and praise Him for what He’s done. As Scripture says, “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” --Psalm 150:6 KJV

This book is a way for me to say “Thank You, God” for healing and saving me, for transforming my life, and for giving me hope and many blessings and promises for the future. To God be the glory.
