Let Me Touch the Lord

A woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” Luke 8:43-48 NIV

One might say this is a nice account from the life of Jesus, but, He lived 2000 years ago. There is no way I can touch Him as this woman did. Don’t be so sure of that! Jesus stands knocking at the door. If one opens the door for Christ, then He will come in. How would you like to touch the heart of Christ? Would you like Him to touch your heart with His love, a love which no one else can give to you? He will let you touch His heart and He certainly will touch yours if you will but open the door.

The woman believed in her heart that if she touched the garment of Christ, she would be healed of her bleeding. Would you like your whole being healed, not just physical ailments, but your heart, mind and soul? Open the door for Christ. If you open the door with a true heart, I promise you that He will come in!! Stand before the Lord, trembling, not in fear but in awe.

Just as Christ told the woman that her faith had healed her, He tells us the same. He said if we had faith the size of a mustard seed, we could move mountains. Jesus also told the woman to go in peace. When Christ visits your heart, mind and soul, you will go forth in peace. And mind you, this is not a peace of this world. It is the peace of Jesus Christ!
