This life sucks. That's it. No other word for it. And it does, not because that's how God intended it, but because the way Humanity has chosen to live.

We walk around, as zombies, not even recognizing reflection on the glass wall. We do not recognize ourselves because we're soulless, hopeless, empty. We wake up in the morning, have our breakfast, go to work. Or have breakfast on our way to work. Face traffic, busy lives. And, what for? To make ends meet? To be known? Successful? Important? To whom? What for? What is the purpose of it all? Make a name for yourself? Feel happy?

- I've just watched that Tv serie...

- I know, it's great!

- I've just come back from a trip...

- I've been there, too. It was amazing.

- Hum, I might go there someday.

- F**, people are so awful! Yesterday, I was at this place and...

- That sucks! I hate when people do that.

- And then, it made me fell all these feelings at once, you know? I felt disgusted, I felt sad, I felt angry...

- I've only seen the first episode...

- And, you know, she'd never even been in real danger!

- Of course she has!

- Not really, because at the end...

Empty. Empty. Empty dialogs. Empty lives. Meaningless. Meaningless. Meaningless.

Loud music, loud conversations. Teenagers growing up in a world full of nothingness. Full of selfish, egocentric people where all that matters is to have more. It doesn't matter the social status, if we're rich or poor. All we ever want is more. A lot more than we had before.

Noise. Noise. Noise. We can't really separate real, meaningful conversations from noise. Because all we want is to be heard. To be seen. To be understood. So we go to social networks and expose our thoughts. Ourselves. But not all of it, or else people might not love us. Just enough. Enough to get attention. Enough for others to empathize. Because, after all, there will always be someone who agrees. Even if it's in a superficial manner. Even if they're pretending to care. Even if they must do it for the sake of their conscious.

Life sucks.

It does so because it is not how it was supposed to be. It's not how God had intended. Don't get me wrong. He did know where it was going, but He loves us so much, that He let us have it our way. In the meantime, he has all along shown us the way. The way to fulfillment, to joy, true happiness. It does involve letting ourselves die, though. Our old self. The one part of ourselves that actually wants all of it. The zombie days, the emptiness, the busy, egocentric life. All of it in exchange for a couple of minutes, hours, days, weeks or, if "we're lucky" a couple of years of so called happiness?  But, really, what is all of it for? If, at the end of the day, we all die. Not for a while, but for ever. And that momentary sense of purpose dies with us, because we've chosen to ridicule, mock and reject the Holy one.

What if life was nothing like this? What if we all cared about and for each other? What if we did not feel we need all we think we need? What if we suddenly realized that life the way we're living is really meaningless, because we've focused on the wrong things all along?
