Temptation

Every day we go through so many temptation because world is full of temptation and a human mind act according to way he thinks and what he see. A day has to come when every being on this earth has to stand in front of God almighty on the judgement day as scripture says in Revelation 20:12

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books

The bible clearly said that we are judged according to our deeds what we have done in the life that Lord gave to us as a precious gift.

Definition for temptation according to the oxford dictionary is “the desire to do or have sth that you know is bad or wrong”.

There is famous hotel in city. The hotel name is Temptation and whenever you passed nearby that hotel then you mind set a desire for you to go inside and see what inside and famous dish of that hotel is. Truly according to name the coffee of that hotel make you tempted so that whenever you pass nearby then you have to lose your pocket for a cup of coffee.

As I am living with youngsters there are lots of temptation with in me and my fellow beings because we all are human being and we are tempted by little things just like a cup of coffee. Once a great scholar said humans are the puppets of mistakes. Therefore it is necessary to learn from the mistakes what you have done in your past or in the present are corrected in the future. Every day we woke and every day we think that this is the day that the Lord has made for us but some people think that again a boring day has come in my life because we think that there is nothing exciting in the life for us. But Lord has set everything perfect for us so that the humans could remember HIM for what He has done for us. For example LORD has set sun and moon for in day and night so that we can praise Him for His wonderful creation.  As in scripture we see that in Genesis1:16

Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

Therefor every day is a blessing from God so live every day with joy and happiness in the Lord by keeping yourself away from all the worldly temptations and pleasures.

There is a great man in history named Sadhu Sunder Singh who spends his whole in the feet of the Almighty. People said that “He is the saint with bleeding feet” because he left all worldly desire and temptation behind and walk in the light of God. Therefore people still honour this saintly man who overcome all his desire and temptation and follow the path which is narrow but having eternal life after death. Because there is a great reward for him in the heaven. As it is given in scripture Matthew 5:12

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you

Because of His promise we have that a reward is preserved for us in heaven. His right hand protects you and prevents you from all worldly desire. But our mind sees many things in a day and some of things we kept in our mind for many days. As a youth some people like to buy electronic gadgets and they kept a desire with in heart to buy that gadget. But there is a another person who is wandering here and there on the earth so that he can find some to tear humans into pieces as it is written in the bible that Satan is like a wild beast who is searching for humans to tear them apart for he is a liar, thief, lustful, tempter and cruel. So beware of this person because he is searching for you to make you tempt by worldly things. As bible says in John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.   He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.   When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:  for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Temptation is good for a human but a temptation leads to destruction or sometimes you became addicted to that thing. Let me help you to understand it better. For example you have seen two small kids out one child is eating chocolate then the child who is standing near to him want snatch that chocolate from him because he tempted to grab that chocolate and fulfil his temptation this is temptation in limits. But if a person is using drugs then his temptation about drugs leads him to destruction because the person is struck in that tempted world from which it is difficult for him to come out from that addiction but it’s not impossible because the word itself describe that I am possible. Friends, I have seen many peoples in my life who are addicted to many things. As the scripture say that in Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

From the above scripture we see that the deeds that we do leads us to death or eternal life. Some people choose death but some people choose life in Christ because they know in Him we can find peace and salvation.

According to the scripture, on the earth we can see two kinds of people as it is written in Matthew 7:13, 14

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

Because narrow is the gate and difficult is way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The person who is behind the worldly pleasures always takes the wide and broad gate because he wants to enjoy his life fully. He thinks that worldly desire satisfy him but the person who is walking on the path of God always take the narrow way because he thinks that narrow path leads him to eternal life. Now, it’s your choice which path you are choosing. If you want the worldly desire to be fulfilled that leads to destruction and death then you can choose the wide but if want God blessing in your life then you can take the narrow path for yourself.

In 1990, Macaulay Culkin is the lead actor in Home Alone movie series when he is child but now that man is in drug addiction because he forgot his saviour and ran towards the fame and riches of the world. A cute boy becomes a drug addict because he gave preference to worldly pleasure and riches but he forgot about the person who gave fame to him.

Many people run towards fame and wealth and leave the God aside. They remember God when misery, sickness, illness, financial crisis etc. will come upon them.

I saw many Christians doing the same. They are busy in the world but when some disaster comes on their life they ran towards God. They call their family pastor to pray for them. But when they are living happily they don’t even think about God. Some of the believers are going to service every Sunday but they don’t know what the priest/preacher is talking about. Therefore world called them namely Christians.

Temptation blinds some people so deeply that if they want to come out from them they can’t.  Let us consider an example, a person is start smoking and within 6 months he became a chain smoker. Now, if he wants to stop smoking he can’t because he is struck in that world. He knows that if he wants to stop he can’t because he knows the consequences. He knows that he has to suffer if he stops smoking which leads him to death also.

This is the way the temptation leads us to destruction. In the earthly life we have to see many faces of life. Therefore life is a mystery for every one of us which leads us to eternal life or eternal destruction. As we see in scripture many Kings came to conquer Israel but no one can do it because God gave promise to their people this is land I gave to you.

In the time of King David, David is the most knowledgeable person on earth at that time. Let’s see the life of David.

Bible quotes that David is the youngest son the family when King Saul is ruling the nation. When he was child, he was tempted for God’s wisdom. Because of David faithfulness God made him as a new appointed king through Prophet Samuel to lead the whole nation. He was the wisest king on the earth till now.

But later we see that King David led his life to destruction because he broke the commandment given by the LORD to Moses. As it is written in the Bible in Exodus 20:14

Thou shalt not commit adultery. 

But he broke the commandment when he saw the solider wife taking bath from his palace window. He got tempted by the beauty of the solider wife. Therefore he killed the solider and calls his widow wife to sleep with him. As a result of which he has to pay the price for his sin in the eyes of God. God sent a prophet to David’s house. When the prophet reached David’s house solider wife was going to gave birth to David’s child.

2Samuel11:27

And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son.   But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. 

 At that prophet said that the LORD said that the child who was going to come into this earth was not going see the world because you commit sin in the eyes of God.

2Samuel12:14

 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.  

And the child dies on the seventh day. Then David realizes his mistake and went to God’s house and cry in God’s for whole night. Because he realizes his mistake that he did sin in the sight of God.

There are many ways that make us to enter in the tempted world through lust. Lust makes a person like a beast. In world, many men and women are in tempted by lust of flesh, lust of power, lust of money.

Guys and gals are mainly tempted to lust of flesh. But Bible says in 1Corinthians 6:19

What?  Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 

Bible clearly said that our body as well as soul belongs to the God almighty made us on His own images. Scripture portion is from Genesis2:7

 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  

But today’s generation is struck in the lustful world. They think that nobody is goanna to see us. But our Emmanuel is watching over us day and night. In another verse Bible claims it as El-Hannora which means Awesome God.

Awesome is He because He has designed everyone and everything so beautifully and so perfectly that every living thing on earth should admire it. It is written in Book of Psalms that

Everything that has breath should Praise God.

 So it is our duty that we should adore His creation as well as Him in every breath. As we take every breath we say His name as “Yeshu”. It’s His signature on our breath.

He put His signature on the whole universe when you explore the whole universe. It is said when many galaxies are seen together then we can a shape which is a Holy Cross. Therefore God made everything with a plan.

Temptation makes us empty means there is nobody for us to care except God. When you have riches and money all are near to you but when you spend all and you have nothing. Then nobody came near to you. As we see in Luke 15:11-32

And he said, A certain man had two sons:  And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me.   And he divided unto them his living.    And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.   And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land;  and he began to be in want.    And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country;  and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.   And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat:  and no man gave unto him.    And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!   I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:  make me as one of thy hired servants.   And he arose, and came to his father.   But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.   And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.   But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:  And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it;  and let us eat, and be merry:  For this my son was dead, and is alive again;  he was lost, and is found.   And they began to be merry.   Now his elder son was in the field:  and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.   And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.   And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.   And he was angry, and would not go in:  therefore came his father out, and entreated him.   And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment:  and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:  But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.   And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.   It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad:  for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.  

Sometimes we behave like a prodigal son but our father who lives in heaven forgives us just as the prodigal son’s father. He rejoices when we return from our worldly path and choose His way instead of ours. Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Therefore always remember that He forgives all our sins as it is written in scripture in Luke 5:20

Thy sins are forgiven thee

For he knows that man is made of dust as it is written in Psalms 103:14

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

He knows today if we doing right by tomorrow we are going to something wrong that is against the will of God

Therefore don’t repeat your conscious sins which you know that it is a sin against the will of God but you are doing again and again. Sometime we do something we are not willing to do but we don’t have a choice in that case ask His wisdom for it is written in James 1:5

 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;  and it shall be given him.
