HEAVEN

The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. Psalm 11:4 NASB

Not only are we told that God’s throne is in heaven, but also that the earth is His footstool and we are under His care and watchful eye.

God certainly reigns on high, over everything, for He created everything. God’s heaven isn’t just the sky over our heads; that sky may be bright and sunny on a good day; it may also be dark and gloomy at night or on a stormy day. No, god’s heaven is infinity and not subject to change. Heaven is a constant resting in His love.

I believe that every person walking this planet Earth once resided with the Lord in His heaven. It was there that our spirits were nourished under His care. It was there that we felt secure, hidden under His wing.

When our physical bodies were developing in our mother’s wombs, our spirits exited from the presence of God. Our spirits then took up residence in our earthly bodies. Our bodies became the earthly temple wherein resides our spirits, our souls. It is how our spirits act when in our bodies that is carefully watched by God. Do our spirits lead us to perform good works to show others the Glory of our Father? That is what God expects from us.

Thankfully, upon our earthly deaths, our spirits return to our God in His heaven. That is the promise of our Creator and the assurance of Jesus rising from His tomb.

Dear Father, nourish and guide our spirits that we my further Your Kingdom here on earth. Amen
