Encouragement
Hustling and bustling seems to be the norm nowadays. The stressors of life can have damaging repercussions, not only to our health, but also to our relationships. One of the relationships that we need to invest in is our relationship with Jesus Christ—it is precious. When we learn to rely on Him completely, only then can we experience peace at its finest.
The Scripture tells us in Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV), “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” I love how this verse helps us to reset. We are assured that as long as we keep our minds on Him, put our complete trust in Him, we will be kept, and also experience a perfect peace.
What is a perfect peace? Another chapter in the bible comes to mind: Philippians 4. In verses 6 and 7, we are encouraged and instructed to not worry about anything. All we are required to do is to pray, with thanksgiving, and make our requests to the Lord. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” When God grants us His peace, we can make it through the toughest of times. Others may wonder, How is it possible to go through all of those trials and there still be a song in your heart? Or, How can you face life when you have received bad news? Simple, it’s the peace of God—but, sometimes not so simple for us.
The good thing is, it is not because of our doing, but through Christ Jesus that we can make it. God will bear us up when we fall, fight for us, and He will shield and protect us. Let us not forget the ceaseless and priceless interceding Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit make on our behalf every day. Isaiah 26:4 (NKJV) says, “Trust in the Lord forever. For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.” God is faithful and strong—He never fails. He is the Creator of the universe–the One and only true God—there is no other God beside Him.
Let’s jump back to Philippians 4, verses 8 and 9 (NKJV). “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
When life throws a curve ball, and it will from time to time. Just remember Who we have on our side—Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. With Him, we always win and we can be certain that we can face tomorrow with His peace!
