Throwing my net into the realms of the ocean
I wait patiently for the catch,
with wishes abound to fulfill desires
- a glimpse of the wealth unlimited to hatch

Pulling the ropes back with measured caution
I seize the net in search for collections,
that the wealth of the sea blessed on my fate
only to find a cluster of sea-marsh and empty-shells

Least let down with the empty feeling
I try my hand at another endeavor – deep into the sea,
hand trembling with anticipation and soul filled with faith
I contemplate on the return journey back home – wealthy

Examining the catch unfurled from the net
- the harvest of the rectitude of karmic actions,
I sight upon the pearl (of wisdom) that I long beckoned
making me fold my hands in thankful reverence
– to relinquish the gift of a lifetime !
