HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF
"REPENT! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!!" ... A voice ignored by the "righteous"
Eating locusts and honey, A bearded wild man ... Declaring the soon coming of brightness
Homeless in the wilderness ... A Baptist for those who listened
Going about the business ... Of creating the early Christians

And now today we hear it again ... A homeless man upon a box
His stomach filled with hunger pains ... He cries his warnings to the lost
Ignored and shunned or shouted down ... The truth is hated and feared
This crazy man a decrepit clown ... Worthy only to be jeered

And once again, here is history ... Repeating what was done
Still blinded to the mystery ... Of the rising "Son"
The early brightness was a Lamb ... Sent to pay the price
For us who were dammed ... But saved by the Christ

But it must be accepted ... This offering for your life
Or it can be rejected ... By those who choose to die
And now when He returns ... It will be in awesome Majesty
And there'll be those who burn ... Who chose to live in blasphemy

But those who chose to believe ... And confessed Him with their mouth
Will be eternally freed ... When they hear His trumpet shout
