Sunken footprints in the sand,
I feel no closer to a plan.
Confident I trudge on through,
Knowing that I'm safe with you.
The wind picks up,
The hills get steep,
This pace is one I cannot keep.
But, softly, gently you call back,
“I'm still here. Stay on My path.”
Falling rain drips down my face,
Twinges of pain from this long, hard race,
But I can see Your shadow move,
With You in front I will not lose.
Clouds pull back,
The sun streams through.
So thankful that I trusted You.
The road ahead looks smooth and clear,
But I'm no fool. I'll stay right here.
For now we walk on, side by side.
Even pace under sun-filled skies.
Soon another storm we'll face,
And when it comes You'll take Your place.
Always in front when the race gets tough.
No matter the trial,
My Savior is ALWAYS enough.
He gave me words today :)
