Terrorism is all around us. As one news commentator recently stated, violence and killing "is out of control." Terror cells are reportedly in every state in America, and it has gotten to the point where terrorists could strike anywhere at any time. Christians, or anyone for that matter, in the midst of it all, can claim the truths of the Bible for their peace and security. Here is a listing of passages from the Book of Psalms, though not comprehensive, that speak to this issue:

     "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for Thou alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety" (4:8).

     "I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies" (18:3).

    "Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord" (27:14).

     "The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped..." (28:7).

     "Thou art my hiding place; Thou dost preserve me from trouble; Thou dost surround me with songs of deliverance" (32:7).

     "God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble" (46:1).

     "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, 'My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust!'...and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night...or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not approach you...For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, your dweling place. No evil will befall you...For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands" (91:1-2, 4-5, 7, 9-12).

     "The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in..."(121:7-8).

     "Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth"(124:8).

     "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch Thy hand against the wrath of my enemies' and Thy right hand will save me" (138:7).

      "Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who devise evil things in their hearts...Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from violent men, who have purposed to trip up my feet..."(140:1-2, 4).

     "Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by safely" (141:10).

     John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NOR LET IT BE FEARFUL."
