~Rainstorm~


The day is dark, the sky in its grey clouds tied
Drops of rain fall as if the heavens cried

Among the puddles and in the mud stands
A girl alone, her golden hair in damp strands

The wind blows above, thunder calls loud and fierce
This grey world the girl’s bright eyes seem to pierce

Why such confusion, such troubles and such pain?
There are times when in this world it does rain

Yet, though her eyes wear confusion like a wreath
She looks up past dark clouds, glimpsing the sun beneath

The drops continue, but the dreary sky clears
Gently falling, refreshing now are heaven’s tears

The girl’s lovely blue eyes smile within
A sudden knowledge growing there will begin

For when the sky is sad and heavy
And though you may not feel so ready

The storm will bring with its heartless pain
A certain strength that you can gain

For when you through the rain can stand
You see the sun, when it shines, as all the more grand

The girl looks now at a clear blue sky
And never any more does she wonder: why?

The dark sky and grey clouds are a thing of the past
But she has remained, strengthened at last
