Yes, the Pilgrims were surely amazed.
They stood in awe of Squanto, dazed.

He was an Indian with a good heart.
A God-Send playing his special part.
"Fish will be soon plentiful in April.
Take them and fertilize the tired soil."

He showed The Plymouth Colony
How to plant and grow corn plenty.
He took them to places unknown.
Seeds of kindness were well sown.

Not many know of his kidnapping
That took him to far off England.
The 14 years there I am recapping.
He was sent off to Newfoundland.

He aided that colony's governor.
There was no better interpreter.
He helped explore on the coast.
His faithfulness was their boast.

He was returned in due honor.
To his tribe he was a long-goner.
Many had died from a plague.
This part I will just keep vague.

He was God's Special Instrument.
By Providence his help was meant.
Squanto, we want to 'Thank You'.
You were a pilgrim's friend so true.
