"The Great Spirit Protects That Man"

The 1755 French & Indian War was bad.
A surprise British ambush was in store.
The French & Indians gave all they had.
Europe called it The Seven Years War.

Toward French Fort Duquesne in stride
British marched thinking that it was right.
Colonel George Washington with pride
Remained an officer alive in that fight.

An Indian warrior later said that he had in all
17 fair fires at Washington, but he did not fall.
This brave colonel by bullet never would die.
He had guardianship of the Spirit in the sky.

Through his coat were four bullets holes.
Two horses were shot while he was riding,
A 'miracle' had preservation of his life its goal.
Death was leveling 900 companions fighting.

An All-Powerful Dispensation of Providence
Had protected him giving history's evidence.
Chief Red Hawk claims shooting him 11X's.
He escaped harm beyond reason or rhyme.

"A power mightier far than we, shielded you."
Their intention, "Quick; be certain with aim."
Rifles were leveled, rifles which, but for you,
Knew not how to miss; it was all effort in vain.

15 years later another great chief traveled far.
To meet, George, Heaven's particular favorite.
A man who can never die in battle you are.
This chief claims that, homage, you deserve it.

Speaking the Spirit of Prophecy with Holy Fire -
Listen! The Great Spirit protects that man,
And guides his destinies, as only He can.
The chief of a people yet unborn with desire,
He will be hailed as founder of a mighty empire.
