“Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind.” (Psalm 31:19 ESV) Do you know how much God cares for you? “But as it is written, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him’” (1 Cor. 2:9 NKJV)
This is a world of anxieties. Every individual is in dire need of hope, assurance and confidence concerning his wellbeing and safety. No one can predict what will happen next. I admit that technology has indeed advanced and improved the way we live. But yet there are murders, suicides, crimes, terrors, cheating, divorces and the like. People having authority are leading in corruption, pride and dishonesty or unfaithfulness. Man may be okay from the outside, but his character is spoiled.
Next, we daily hear of accidents and diseases. Millions are struggling through mental and physical disabilities. Many thousands are being addicted to smoking, liquor and drugs. Many relationships are broken, many souls are wounded. Economic development and advanced technology alone would not do good, the thing that must be considered very seriously is the inner strength of each individual person born on earth.
But we have hope.
As we read above from Psalm 31:19 and 1 Cor. 2:9, God cares for us. So, what is our part? To complain and murmur? Never! The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (Phil. 4:6 NASB) Do you know the preceding verse? “And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7 HCSB) How beautiful is the hymn, ‘What a friend we have in Jesus! All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer.’
Dear friend, do you realize that you have someone who is eagerly waiting to bear all your burdens? I do not know what problems you are going through right now, but I know a God who can help you out, give you courage, comfort and confidence and bless you completely. He is the one who created you.
Will you lighten your soul and remove all your worries by keeping faith in Jesus? Indeed you may have to go through difficulties, but God will guide you through His presence and lead you to the final victory. A problem-free life on earth is not promised by God. But yet He keeps us firm and safe in midst of all that we suffer.
Are you uncertain about what is going on in your life? Remember that you need only to surrender your whole life to God and when your life is in His hands, it is safe. Do you know what Romans 8:28 says? “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” (NRSV)
Again, the Word of God comforts us in Psalm 34:17-19. “The righteous call to the Lord, and He listens; He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; He saves those who have lost all hope. The good man suffers many troubles, but the Lord saves him from them all.” (TEV)
Finally, let us conclude with the soul-strengthening words of our Saviour: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV)
