"The Poet"

Some people like to do puzzles using words.
They try to make words cross other words.
A poet tries to fit the best words with rhyme
And meaning into a line keeping a sort of time.

Sometime the maneuvers are tricky to say the least.
The idea is to give the reader a little literary feast.
You never know what word of rhyme comes to mind.
It is sort of like having an accidental serendipity time.

You start trying to say one thing and out comes another.
You can't really predict how the line will end, Oh. Brother!
Then comes line after line and then another and another.
Until the thought you thought turns into the other other!

It is all good and true when spoken through to the end.
Because that is what poets do even for their good friends.
You have heard it said that a word fitly spoken is like an apple
Of gold in a setting of silver. So true for poets who are capable.

Start by picking a topic you wanted to write about sometime.
Remember to keep time but don't out run the word's rhyme.
Keep a pace for their is no race to fit words in plenty of time.
To be a really great poet, Ask God; He will add words sublime.
