"My New Vacation Companion"

In the backwoods of Montana the road did wind.
I was hoping that very soon a motel I would find.
Then after going around an almost endless bend,
The motel appeared where I'd spend day's end.

It had only about eight small Pinewood Cabins.
I quickly stopped at the motel office to check-in.
"Hello lonesome traveler, I got a room for you."
That was a greeting from a lady clothed in blue.

I thought it a little unusual but registered quickly.
She smiled saying, "Niceties here you won't see."
I found my room and ventured in to check it out.
There was only a small bed of sorts thereabout.

Usually I watch a little TV as I unpack to relax.
Something for soothing the soul here was lax.
My eyes fell on an object at the foot of the bed.
It was a book with pages that looked well read.

Something drew me to that Bible on that night.
As it turned out, I read it non-stop with delight.
A warm feeling of wholeness flooded my soul.
I realized that it was God's Loving Grace's Goal.

I used to travel a lot by myself on a vacation.
Now I have A Companion Who brings elation.
He is The Word of God, My New Time Sharer.
A lonesome traveler no more, Jesus is My Carer.
