"Being an Atheist in a Foxhole, Not Smart"

Brave men serve in the forces in countries.
They guard with life so we can be free.
This holds true for all our allies worldwide.
Many have fought in past wars and died.

They gave their lives for country's defense
Against tranny's ruthless ungodly offense.
Instinctively they turned to God for courage
Who gave Divine hope amid enemy's rage.

Even in times past like at Valley Forge
When liberties cause was so near defeat
Heroic men stayed the course, no retreat.
Their recourse was prayer faith had forged.

Faith is the foundation of Democracy,
Prayers of faith are an indispensable part.
War, many God-fearing men did see.
Being an atheist in a foxhole is not smart.

Recognition of God as Our Supreme Being
Helped insure, Democracy, we keep seeing.
Whether you pray in foxholes or warm bed,
Freedom demands we recognize Our Head.

God is the Author of man's individual rights,
The principles for which courageous fight.
In many lands the state claims to be author.
In truth they come from A Heavenly Father.

We thank You, Lord, for Wise Providence.
Trusting You has brought liberty's evidence.
To trust in man is to build on shifting sand.
We trust in You, Who has us in His Hand.
