"The Moon Communion"

A little-known significant event took place
On the moon's surface in the space race.
It took place in the Lunar Module, Eagle,
It was a private special 'Spiritual Meal'.

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin did dine
On some Blessed Bread and Holy Wine.
It was their moment of Godly Communion.
God was joining man in a 'Special Union'.

In the moon's one-sixth of earth's gravity
The wine curled slowly and gracefully
Up the side of the cup; praise going up,
Moon's first food eaten, liquid in a cup.

Mike Collins in Command Ship, Columbia
And all the world were united in their hearts.
These Moon Walker's were about to depart
On the powdery surface, Lord, before Yah.

There were many in that NASA program
Who did believe what they are doing in part
Was a big step in God's eternal plan for man,
A good place to put their trust from the start.

You are The Vine, we are Your branches.
Lord be ever present in man's out-reaches.
Your help we do always humbly beseech.
Great heights for us Your Light enhances.
