To do something wholeheartedly, entails doing it with absolute sincerity and enthusiasm. Jeremiah 29:13 states “the Lord will be found when we seek Him wholeheartedly”. When our approach in seeking God comes from a place of complete sincerity, free of ulterior motives, and not out of obligation, but with pure desire and longing for Him, then we will find Him.
What is whole hearted seeking? It is not merely attending Sunday service, praying before going to bed, or working in the church. Seeking God wholeheartedly involves putting God first in everything, everyday. Before your cup of coffee in the morning, before your feet even touch your bedroom floor, thanking Him for another day of life and asking Him for guidance and protection for that day. Whispering a prayer throughout the day.
Whole hearted seeking, further involves making time each day to have quiet time with God, fostering an intimate relationship. Neither jobs, television, phones, social media, friends, or even family should be allowed to hinder our intimate time with God. For seeking Him wholeheartedly means He takes precedence over ALL.
Prayer: Father God, with my whole heart I seek you. Putting nothing and no one before you, I seek you while you may still be found. Reveal yourself to me, in all of your glory, refreshing, renewing, and restoring me.
In Jesus name, amen.
