OUR BLESSED HOPE

WAKE UP! WAKE UP! And hear the warning cry … A new age is dawning
The alarm is ringing, Open your eyes … And see it coming
The whole world is in debt … Way up over its head
And the only sure bet … Is the surety of death

We don’t know the time … Neither is the hour known
But we do know the signs … And there’ll be a trumpet blown
Though the sound won’t be heard … By those who don’t believe
Only those who have the word … In fear the rest will flee

It’s been two thousand years … For God a couple of days
That His Son shed His tears … For our sins He chose to pay
Now upon the wall … We are told to watch and warn
For it’s all going to fall … And the masses are going to mourn

Of all the forms to govern … Our country has been the best
But the Spirit that had been hovering … Has been put to rest
Now man’s depraved heart … Is making new rules
Controlled by all that’s dark … We are led by Satan’s fools

But as we watch and wait … At total peace and calm
We see it’s getting late … And we'll soon be going home
It’s called the Blessed Hope … To be saved from God’s Wrath
As we ignored the slippery slope … And chose the narrow path

I may live or I may die … It matters not at all
But to go while still alive … Would put my heart in thrall
In the twinkle of an eye … Is how it’s going to be
As we rise up in the sky … And ushered to a feast

While down on this Ol' Earth … All Hell is breaking out
In preparation of the birth … That we’ve been talking about
With the curse of the thorns … Having been removed
A new Earth is born … As was first approved

But as we all know … Birth is fraught with pain
So to escape the coming woes … You must think again
It’s either Heaven or its Hell … Where we’ll be eventually
We must choose where we will dwell … For all of eternity

The only thing required … Is to believe in God’s Son
Before you have expired … Or you will be shunned
To be in the presence of the brightness … Of our Blessed Hope
You have to be righteous … And covered with the cloak

The cloak is the blood … Of our Lord Jesus Christ
That covers all the crud … For which He gave His life
