A beautiful woman is my mother,
A lovely rose, like no other.
She cared for me, and when I cried,
With her loving hands, those tears she dried.
She sacrificed so much for me,
Did extra so that from work I might be free.
Giving of her time and love,
She knew her treasure lay up above.
Easter egg hunts and thru the woods we walked,
Sharing in nature as we talked.
She loved me so very much,
Showing it in her gentle touch.
And when I was very ill,
She cared for me still.
Helping with my school work,
And at my silliness did not smirk.
Protecting and watching over me,
Shielding me from fear I could not see.
Receiving wild flowers from sticky fingers,
So filled with delight was that heart of hers.
When I would fall and scrape my knee,
She was always there for me.
When alone and deserted I would feel,
It was nothing a hug and kiss couldn’t heal.
Be careful, she would say,
When I went outside to play.
Trying to have patience,
She kept on with perseverance.
Never will I ever be able to repay,
Her work for me day by day.
She means so much to me,
I love her so very dearly.
May she be blessed each and every day,
With my parting word, this is what I pray.
May the good Lord bless her,
My precious, dearest mother.
