John 5:5-6

5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”


Greetings my beloved brothers and sisters,

In the 5th chapter of John we find a great multitude of sick, blind, lame and paralyzed people sitting around the pool of Bethesda waiting for the stirring of water that they may be heal. Interestingly, we have the same scene in many of our churches sitting around the alter waiting to get heal. The scripture declares that when Jesus saw a certain man who had an infirmity or had been sick for 38 years he ask him as simple question," “Do you want to be made well?” The obvious answer is yes however; lets not draw that conclusion for the certain man nor all those who are sick, paralyze and lame that are with him and those that are in our churches and all over the world.

Yes people are sick and many say they want to be made whole therefore, what is hindering the sick from becoming well? Let's see what the certain man at the pool of Bethesda said,"7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” (John 5:7). Here lies the problem with all those who are sick and want to get well, as the man responded,"I have no man". Most of those that are sick are waiting for a man to heal them, a man made drug, a man made invention, a man made remedy and there is Jesus the God that healeth thee! Jesus said healing is the children bread therefore to be heal and to be whole is the will of God according to the word of God so why are so many not trusting God's will and God's word.

Could this be why Jesus asked the lame made, Do you want to be made well? When the sick man finished making excuses about why he is not healed, Jesus responded with, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.( John 5:8-9).

That is my response to you my sister and to you my brother if you got sickness in your body....Rise, take up your bed and walk! Rise up above all your doubts, rise up above all your fears! Take up your bed, take up what has been holding you down and lift it up before the Lord, cast all your cares on him the because he cares for you, the Lord cares for you! Walk...walk out your faith! Fight the good fight of faith! Jesus is Lord and Jesus is a healer, by his stripes we are healed! Hallelujah to the lamb of God! Rise, take up your bed and walk!
