There’s a type of war going on where no one is taking up arms but destroying lives nevertheless
- Jide’s thoughts
Are you dealing with a situation that is recurring and insistent on drowning and destroying you?
Are you overwhelmed with worries about tomorrow because you see not, even a glimmer of hope?
Are you at your wit’s end in your present predicament and dilemma?
Then this article was written just with you in mind!
What you’re dealing with should not be in charge of you as the order of things before God is, rather, you should be in-charge.
I was at a supermarket recently; shopping for a few items … I noticed some pouches piled high on a large table where things on sale were put. I move in for a closer inspection and noticed that apart from these being fully discounted, there was a sign above them that stated 1+1 FREE! I was happy so I picked two.
Though this seemed clear enough I thought there is no harm in asking and being very sure, what exactly it meant. I looked around for a sales person in this department as I found none, I decided to take my two anyway and find out from the cashier… I asked the cashier as she was about to scan my wares to please hold-on that I had a question… then I asked about the price of the pouches, she picked the two pouches without saying a word when I requested to know if I had to pay for only one and the other not, she scanned both pouches and barked some words which were inaudible to me that I said, “pardon me, do you mean that am paying for only one ?” , She then shouted the price at me which meant I was to pay for the two, then I said still in a normal tone of voice (patiently ignoring her nastiness and extreme rudeness) I realise that is the price for each, but am I paying for one or both and what’s with the sign hanging over the items that says 1+1 FREE (because she had scanned the two), she rudely ignored me and simply picked up (more like… grabbed them and slammed them back on the conveyor) all other items that I intended to buy, one by one and continued scanning them then she shouted out my total bill. Now I had had enough; realizing that I should have turned the other way when I noticed initially as I approached her that she had a look of disdain and scorn on her face (I assumed it was her normal expression) I picked all that I had and told her that I was not paying my hard earned money to her but going to another cashier but before that I made a complaint of this aggression to the person in charge of the branch.
Yes, I received apologies and it turned out that the 2nd pouch was FREE but she did not know it.
Now I wonder what the problem of this lady was. Had she had a bad day, love/ emotional problems,a sick or recently dead relative/ close-one, or is she simply sick of the job but can’t leave because bills have to be paid?
I just wonder or could it have been HATE for people or certain types of people (And she is in the people –customer business?), as it is with me, I left that place thinking deeper than the physical situation… whatever the reason for the rude disposition and eventual emotional outburst it shows that HER SITUATIONS had mastered her!
Many leave in their wake bitterness and hurt, knowingly or unknowingly contrary to:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
and
Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
We all do need strength in these times to show true light of Christ in a world filled with hatred, meanness and purposeful destruction of people by other people.
Arise today and decide that YOU will be on THE LORD’S SIDE in your actions and inactions, IN GETTING A GRIP ON YOURSELF NOT TO pass on the hurt and hatred,BE DETERMINED TO promote love and in so doing wipe out satan’s vendetta of hatred on mankind.
Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
