Inhabiting the Land

I planned to stay away from Manhattan during the Republican National Convention, but God planned for prayer walks and evangelism. Saturday, the 28th, putting on my walking shoes, forgetting to take my hat however, I entered the streets around Times Square. In my book, God’s Jihad—a Prophetic Chronology, there is a section that speaks of God wanting dominion over New York City for several reasons. Some of them speak of New York City as the center of finance for the world, with its many international financial institutions and as well as the center for governments. The United Nations Assembly meets in New York City to approve and disapprove of government actions, to agree or disagree on new governments being formed. The Lord has also given a blueprint for having dominion in every city around the world. I found walking the streets around Times Square to be much like the spies assessing the land before the Israelites entered to take possession of the Promised Land. (Book of Joshua)

In the Book of Joshua, the Lord speaks to Mose's successor Joshua, to be courageous and continue to seek the Lord’s advice in all things for success. The Israelites were ready to receive the promise of God—the Promised Land—and God was ready for them to receive it. There was just one little problem—they had to conqueror it first.

Joshua prayed before every battle and before every situation except one—and he was caught off guard. Because the Israelite army would not move until Joshua gave the word—after he had the battle plan from God—they were victorious in every battle they fought.

The inhabitants of Jericho were seized by fear because they had heard what the Lord had done for the children of Israel. They had heard how the Red Sea had parted before Pharaohs army; how they had walked across on dry ground and the pursuing, trained army had been drowned when the water crashed over them. They had heard the story about the children of Israel crossing the Jordan River at a time when it was flooded, when it was at its highest and most deadly levels. Yet, the children of Israel didn’t even get their feet wet or muddy—it was dry ground.

Leadership of major cities called for trained fighters and armies from other cities and countries to come to their defense against the Israelite Army. The children of Israel depended upon the Lord their God to deliver them in every situation—and with few or no causalities.

Can you imagine what your city, family, or personal life would look like if you responded to God’s promise the same way? How do you respond to the war in Iraq? We might not be the one fighting, but our family members, friends and certainly our armed forces are. Are you part of the praying army? Are you holding our leadership, no matter what you personally think of them, up in prayer? Miracles and the power of God is for us—today—let the world see and hear of our victories.

In God’s Jihad, a prophetic word April 29, 2001 was distributed to many around the world. In short, it speaks about Saddam Hussein being taken from power and the war that would ensue. The next round requires the “effectual fervent prayers of the righteous to avail much” in the days ahead. Your prayer is a weapon against the enemy of God. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” [Ephesians 6:12 KJV]
