Father, you created me
You formed me
You knew me before the work began
And I came to be by Your hand.
I am beautiful.

I can dance and sing for joy
And delight in Your absolute glory.
I am a child of the Heavenly Father
And I am beautiful.

Some do not see me this way.
They look and laugh.
Or look with scorn.
They do not see a beautiful creation.
But I am beautiful.

They see cracks and flaws
And missing pieces.
They are not mistaken.
I am broken.
But I am beautiful.

They push and pull me
Into places I don’t belong
Because they don’t understand.
They don’t want to understand
That I am beautiful.

I do things that I shouldn’t
And make stupid mistakes
That leave cracks and flaws for all to see.
But they don’t see
That I am beautiful.

I still dance and sing for joy
For I know the secret
The secret of beauty
That makes it easy to say
That I am beautiful.

You see, all I have to do is ask
And You will shine through all those flaws
Creating a dazzling display
For those who chose to see
I am beautiful.
