Who Touched Me?

But Jesus said, “Someone touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Luke 8:46 NKJV

This is prayer in action! Looking at the woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, there is much to learn. This woman spent all of her worth for physicians to do for her what Jesus did in moment. Many would not consider Jesus healing this distraught person, ‘an incident of prayer’ in her desperation. But in fact she was responding in prayer; because of her faith.

Listening through her trusting heart, she believed, by touching the hem of His robe, ‘I will be made well’. Our reaching out in faith must be genuine and without reservation, believing before we ask. I like what our Lord shared with us from Mark’s account.
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you have received them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24 NKJV

This does not define itself to mean what we ask will be answered in the manner or time we expect in our human reasoning. Many times over my own faith walk I witnessed answers to my petitions with far greater blessing than in the manner I asked. I’ve learned in my faith walk; He knows my heart and need before I utter a word to Him from my lips. The more we have received, the more we’ll reach up to Him. This woman exercised prayer as result of moving to reach Jesus, accepting ahead of time what Jesus could and did do through the very power of His presence. Consider the Father’s love to us through His Son….when Jesus, because of His love for each one of us will ask: “Who touched Me?”
