Rocks to Jewels

My heart is burning with love for Him
He who made the stars, the creation, everything
How can one so big, so majestic, so powerful
Be so gentle, so sweet, so available?

His gentle caress is like a warm summer breeze
His voice is like music, playing so softly
His love for me is like a fuzzy blanket that engulfs me

Oh God! I cried out to you in anger! I lifted my voice against you!
I told you I was not pleased
With the things you put me through

You reach down and take my soul into your hand
You bandage it up and say “child I understand
You’re not seeing the picture with your spirit, but with your flesh
That is why you are angry when you look at that mess

Everything seems to be going wrong
And you don’t think you can take it for very long
But darling let me show you what I see
Open your eyes for a minute with me

Before me I see a solid gray rock in His hand
God, what is that? I really don’t understand
I watch as the hands pull away the stone
A beautiful jewel is revealed alone
He brushes it up and buffs it to a shine

See how beautiful they are? The ones that are called mine?

The stone is a mixture of bright and beautiful colors
Which reflect the image of our perfect Father
It sparkles as a diamond
But unlike any other

Oh my child, can’t you see
You are as that rock little one
And I am working to make you like this jewel

Then he takes me to the great expanse
That hangs above the darkest night
And I can see how those little diamonds shine so bright

My child did I not say to my Beloved Abraham
That his descendants would be as the stars
My child in all that darkness, still they shine
I can see where each one of them are.

My darling, a rock cannot shine like these
And those rocks can only become Jewels through me.
So every time you start feeling such pressure
Just remember I know the right measure
To transform My Beloved from an uncomely Rock
To the most beautiful treasure

My heart is so full of joy as I take in this sweet analogy
I know again the wonderful and beautiful plans He has for me
Things that right now
I can not fully understand
So I will just be still
And recognize this current pressure
As the loving but firm caress of His gentle Hand.
