Christ has not come to keep us in chains
There is no gift of wilderness
There is no gift of living in a desert
Why live there ?.

The preacher cries how to live
In the place where there is waterless clouds
To assist you in a wandering place
Why live there ?.

The river does not flow dry
The clouds a not waterless
Cross over the Jordan to the other side
Why not live there ?.

The storm is past so the bagpipe can play
The tune of the redeemed
In the place that God builds
Why no live there ?





For he (Abraham) looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:10 KJV)

My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away! (Song of Solomon 2:10-13 NKJV)

If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth...(Ecclesiastes 11:3 NKJV)

Note: this poem is a wee response to all the preaching about telling people how to "live in the desert...how to live in the wilderness". What good is it to live there ?. Cross the Jordan...get to the other side and live in the place where God has provided for you; in the life of Christ !. Lets not learn to live in the desert, but learn to live in the promised land. The giants may be big, but a believer is not a grasshopper but more than a conqueror because a Jesus has already conquered !. We just enjoy the spoils !.
