Some poems are like spring showers,
Cascading down from heaven above.
Pure rivers of simple beauty,
Filled with God’s perfect love.

Some poems are more like almonds:
Tough, stubborn nuts for me to crack!
But the abundant meat within,
Seems to makes up for speed’s lack.

Some poems are faultless diamonds,
Precious gems of pressure and time;
Still, they shine so much the brighter
From tears which polish the rhyme.

No matter how hard or long
They may require to be complete,
Not one can said to be finished,
‘Till its laid at Jesus’ feet.
