When my way gets dark and drear,

And the hills are hard to climb,

The road is rough,

The going is tough,

And I need some peace of mind…


That peace of mind

I always find

In Your Word.

And Your Word

I will always uphold.


Satan is trying to make me

Let go of Your word.

He’ll never succeed

For it has been etched

In the depths of my soul.


The devil came along and tried to steal my praise,

Telling me You’re not worthy

And that this grave that I am in

Will be my final resting place.


He tries to make me believe that You don’t love me.

That I am loving and serving You in vain.

That things will never get better.

That I have been predestined to a life of pain.


He tries and he tries and he tries…


And then You say, "Peace-be STILL."

At Your rebuke, the devil shuts his mouth.

He can’t speak another word.

And while he is quiet, I am able to focus

On why the devil is trying soooooooooo hard to put doubt in my mind

And trying to separate me from Your love all of the time.


He’s doing it because he knows what lies ahead for me.

He knows Your plans for my life and he does not want me to see them come to pass.


But the devil has no say so in this.

Your plans for me have already been fulfilled in the heavenlies and in the spiritual realm.

My steps are being divinely ordered by Your word.

The devil can see that I have almost arrived.

I’m only a few steps away

And I am taking it all in stride.


The devil can’t stop this.

It’s already done.

My victory against him has already been won.

It was won on the cross by Jesus

On top of Golgotha’s hill

And not a demon in hell

Can interrupt Your will,

As long as I keep the faith in you

And abide in Your word.


My vow is to never give the devil the time of day.

I’m sold out to fulfilling my purpose in you.

No matter what may come my way,

I promise to forever be true to you.


Yes-my vow is to never again give the devil the time of day.

But to continue to worship you God in all I do and in all that I say.

Not because of what you can do for me, but Father, just for who you are.

You’re my everything.

My Lily of the Valley.

My Bright and Morning Star


And You’re worthy to be praised.
