What If God Was Not There
What if God was not there for us? What if He didn’t hear our cry anymore? What would we do if we could not feel God in our spirit? What would make God leave us alone? What would happen to us if God was like man? What if we didn’t have Jesus to come and take us back to the King? How do we get there? We must follow the book, keep the given rules and laws, and then do the commission we have been called to.
Deuteronomy 31:24-30 and it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, that Moses commanded the Levities, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, take this book of the law and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck; behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord, and how much more after my death? Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you and evil will befall you in the latter days because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
Moses is speaking to the people of Israel in his closing days and activities. He called the people to be faithful, turned over command in the sight of the people to Joshua before he sang his last song and gave his final blessing upon Israel before his death and burial. Moses reminds us still today of our doings before God and man. Our doings bring Satan before God to accuse us. Do we believe in God? Do we believe his Word? Do we trust his Son that He is and He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him? Do we know the Commandments God gave Moses by God? Do we seek to keep them? Do we take the Book of the Law with us everywhere we go? Put it in the side of the ark; our ark is our heart. We are to take the Word to heart.
Matthew 28:19-20 go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world; Amen.
It’s time we believe God again. Christ sent his disciples to baptize and teach all nations about Him, his love, and salvation. If we can believe God we can receive of his blessings of love. We have been commissioned and have taken on the challenge to uphold the bloodstain banner of Christ. Now what are we going to do? No man has seen God at any time but we believe through Jesus Christ and our faith is increased because of him and what he did for us, in and through us. We are to believe that God will never leave us, fail us or forsake us. We are to be of good courage and strong (Joshua 1:5-8), keep the Word, don’t let it depart out of your mouth and meditate on it day and night.
We cannot teach what we know nothing about, we must learn of God. The Word teaches us that we are not to sin against God therefore the Word is a witness against us. When we sin we are rebellious to God, the Word and the Spirit. What a mess we find ourselves in. We become stiff necked and prideful without God in our lives. What does it take for us to be taken to the King? Well what it takes for us to go it take the same for the next person. God sends us to the next person to commission them to come in like manner as we had to. We commission them to gather in God’s house with His people, hear the Word in our ears, ask God for forgiveness of sin and don’t allow them self to become corrupt.
We must stay the course of the Lord, stay in his will and way, pray against evil in the land and build a strong prayer life. We are to do no evil in the sight of God or man, provoke not God, or man to anger and be responsible for our own actions. We are to teach people to ask God to bless the work of our hands and whatever we find to do that’s right, do it. We are to teach as well as do, don’t stop at the beginning or midway our walk with God for he that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 23:13). Because iniquity abounds in the hearts of man the love of many is waxing cold. Man is failing the test put forth by the enemy and finds themselves in need of a new touch, another chance to do right and accepting to preach the Gospel to all mankind in the world.
We want to see the King, the Heavenly King. We must turn away from evil, turn from wickedness and turn to the Word to hear it, keep it, and do it. Follow the book, the Word and keep the laws contained therein. God will hide us and put us to safety just as He did the men that came to Rahab (Joshua 2:1-6).They came to spy out the land and when the enemy came looking for them to kill them Rahab concealed them from the enemy and she was the one God used to bring forth Jesus. She was a born again prostitute that accepted the way of the men. Jesus came through her lineage. Jesus died for the sin of the world and what are we willing to sacrifice for Him? Rahab sacrificed the life of her and her son to keep these men alive. Jesus sacrificed his life to keep us alive spiritually that we could see God.
It seemed as though God was not there when Jesus consumed the sin of the world; but He was there He just don’t have anything to do with sin! The tree of knowledge represented good and evil but what was contained in it was fruit good to eat. God had said not to eat of it for then we would know good and evil. How much more today? God said to not to partake of certain things in life yet we do. God said His Spirit would not always dwell with man. Without the Word, Jesus and the Holy Ghost we cannot know God. All men shall know of God, all men must choose to serve God or not, to obey evil is still an option. Man chooses to sin. Jesus shed his blood for the remission of sin and sin will send man to hell. Why would anyone want to follow sin?
There is a name above all names that we are to call upon and that‘s the name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord. We can’t get to heaven by trying no other way. We as a people look too much for what’s forbidden to be accepted. If we name the name of Jesus Christ we should all speak the same things He did in the earth. Preach and teach the Word of God, the teachings of Jesus and know that God is the Creator of all things. Sin causes division, it causes us to call on another name and our life is all about us. The servants of sin shall be cursed, condemned, and judged to hell because Jesus came that we don’t have to sin.
Why would we want to follow sin to hell? God is here and He awaits us to call upon Him. He has given us a mediator and a comforter. What more can we ask for? Christ has been sent to comfort all those that mourn and who seek to him and not to the world for comfort. He will do all this for us that we may abound in the fruit of righteousness as the branches of God’s planting. Neither the mercy of God, the atonement of Christ, neither the gospel of grace profits the self-sufficient and proud. We must be humble and led to know our own character and wants by the Holy Ghost that we may see and feel the need of the sinner to be saved. When we humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God we will come to know that His Doctrine contains glad tidings indeed to all those who are humbled before God.
God made promises to the Jews when they returned out of captivity which extends even today to all that will believe and receive them through his grace. God has delivered us to out of spiritual death. An unholy soul is like a city that is broken down and has no walls, like a house in ruins; but by the power of Christ’s Gospel and grace, it is fitted to be a habitation of God through the Spirit. We attain to holly indifference as to the affairs of this world; when though our hands are employed about them our hearts are not entangled with them, but preserved entire for God and his service, then the sons of the alien are our ploughmen and vine dressers.
Those whom God set at liberty, he sets them to work. His service is perfect freedom; it is the greatest honor. All believers are made to our God kings and priests and always ought to conduct themselves as such. If we have the Lord for our portion we have reason to say that we have worth, a portion and reason to rejoice. In the fullness of him is joy and pleasures forever. We shall receive more than double for all our services and sufferings. God desires truth and therefore hates all injustice. He does not justify any man’s robbery of his offerings under pretense. All that we do for Christ is of righteousness and truth. Make up your mind today that for God I live and for God I die. God wants us to be clothed with the garments of salvation. He wants to cover us with the robe of Christ’s righteousness now and by the sanctification of the Spirit that his image is renewed in us.
