The world says the more you take the more you have. Christ says the more you give the more you are.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. 2 Timothy 3:2-5 New International Version
Isn’t that the world’s way, to climb over others just to get to the top?
Don’t forget those are people and all the while you are climbing up that ladder you are constantly looking over your shoulder to see who is trying to climb over you. Isn’t that a backstabbing world? Who can you trust? What kind of friends do you have? When they have gotten all they can get from you they throw you away like yesterdays rubbish. What kind of life is that?
Now how can you give?
Although today we do not have a lot of spare cash laying around there are plenty of other ways to give.
Why not go online and be a prayer partner? Why not volunteer at a seniors home? Why not be a reading buddy at a school and help a child? Of course there is always the soup kitchens and food banks. Why not volunteer to help keep a trail clean?
I have found that the more I give the more I have. The more joy I have in my life. The more fellowship I have with Christ and the more fulfilling my life is. This is where you store up your best investments, the treasures of Heaven.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 New International Version.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) provide me the opportunities to serve You by serving others. I know this will enrichen me both here and now and in Heaven. I humbly request this in the name of the greatest treasure Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
