The Building of A Spiritual House After God’s Order
God’s house is built upon a rock, that rock being the revelation of who Christ Jesus is. When Jesus asked of his Disciples in Matthew 16:13 who do men say that I am? Various ones answered and said some say that he was John the Baptist, some said Elias and others say he was Jeremias or one of the prophets. Do we know who Jesus is today? Jesus spoke of the Spirit but they answered and understood the natural part of what He was asking. Peter in Matthew 16:16 answered Jesus saying; thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered Peter in Matthew 16: 17-18 blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father (God said and made it plain) which is in Heaven, and I say also unto thee (Jesus said) that thou art Peter (Jesus changed his name), and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
We look at the faith in the truth of Peter’s confession as being called a rock. When we build God’s House on a rock we build on the truth and faith. God’s house is not built with things that we see but with things not seen. Faith, Truth, Trust, Hope, Righteousness, Sanctification and Peace according to Paul in Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. We look to the Holy Ghost for help in building this spiritual house after God’s Order. It is the Holy Spirit that led Jesus through the terrains of life in the earth and the Angels ministered to him. How do we think we can build a house of God and not give the house what it need? God is the Master builder of the house housed in us. We are twofold and serve God in a spiritual manner after Christ with our flesh in obedience to the Word of God and our spirit after the leading of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 3:7-8 wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith) today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness.
A house not built after God’s order is a house that sets corrupting in a desert storm. The people of God wandered around in the wilderness for forty years because they tempted God, proved Him, and had to see his works against them. They grieved God with their doings and erred in their hearts for they knew not His Ways. How can we say we love God and not know Him? Elijah in I Kings18:21and Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him, but if Baal, then follow him. and the people answered him not a word.
These people didn’t purpose in their mouth not to transgress they turned to the right hand and left hand to do evil. They didn’t trust God or believe that He could do what he said. They didn’t set their faces like a flint and believed God would bring them to an open shame. The house God builds is orderly and God is served as Lord and Master but these people were dishonest with themselves and God. They defrauded their neighbors, did unrighteousness, trusted in oppression, carried forth a false balance that is abomination to the Lord, and stole for which they were not ashamed even when they were found out.
We have to be careful how we build our house. Jeremiah 22:13 woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness and his chambers by wrong, that useth his neighbors service without wages. If we start our endeavors right, God will end them right. Paul said in Ephesians 2:14 that Christ Jesus is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. We can’t be at peace not treating our brother right. Paul used this expression figuratively to show the arrangement of the synagogue before Christ. He was writing to the Jews. In the synagogue there was a partitioned off a space in the back of the building for the Gentiles. Paul refers to the wall as that which under the Old Covenant separated the Gentiles from the privileges of salvation; but now through Christ this is broken down, and all have equal privileges before God. We must love everyone especially those of the household of faith and keep ourselves in the love of God. We must treat each other right that we keep the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When we remember how that our forefathers murmured and complained to God about their destiny, walked off from God to their own lusts, boasted of their own selves, spoke great swelling words and had men’s admiration because of their advantage we have to also remember the Word of the Lord which was spoken of Jesus Christ and put on the full armor of God. We must remember how all of our lives we have heard that there would be a last day and how there would be mockers in the last time who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. They have separated themselves sensually and don’t want the Holy Ghost. What are we building God’s house on? We must build up our faith praying in the Holy Ghost.
We need to show compassion that we make a difference in the world not give into the pressures of the world. If we are to reach one we must save them with fear, pull them out of the fire and hate even the garments spotted by the flesh. When we build the house God wants in us He will keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. God will sanctify his house once again when we come to him; for he is a sanctifier. Jesus asked him in John 17:17 sanctify them Father through thy Word; thy Word is truth. We are preserved in Jesus Christ, and called. God keeps on pouring out his mercy, his peace, and love over and over again. We must earnestly contend for the faith, faith of a new home; a house not made with hands.
In this new house sanctified by God we must watch and pray that demons unaware don’t crowd our space; they are unruly devils, unruly evils, doing everything they can do to tear God down! Can you believe? Be real! We the people of God, the House of God must know who it is we serve, who died for our sins, and who it is that is the continuator of the work of Christ. Salvation carry a belief that He is otherwise we don’t have salvation. What are we building on the natural church or the spiritual church?
