Why (Newtown tragedy)
Evil is real.
Why Does God allow it?
Why doesn’t He stop it?
What reason is there for it?
He is powerful enough.
He created evil as well as good.
We don’t know why.
Are we able to know the mind of God?
Nothing happens outside His purpose.
Nothing happens outside His control.
God is still all loving.
God is still all powerful.
Is it necessary that we understand?
Or only that we have faith and trust Him?
By His very nature, God is good.
No one is good, but God alone.
Lean not unto your own understanding
For we live in a fallen world.
The blame for evil lies in man.
He is the one who commits it.
Adam made a choice in the garden
To stand at enmity with the Creator.
We inherited that sinful nature.
God has given us a choice.
We have all turned away from God.
We are a fallen creation.
Desire is once conceived in us.
Desire then gives birth to sin.
When that sin is fullgrown in us,
Sin gives birth to certain death.
Why does God allow evil?
Why doesn’t He stop it?
He uses evil to fulfill His purpose.
He causes all things to work to our good.
The Lord made everything according to His purpose.
Surely the wrath of men shall praise Him.
You meant evil against me,
But God meant it for good.
He uses evil for His own glory.
Man born of a woman
Is of very few days.
Full of troubles will he see.
We will suffer as Christ did suffer.
Don’t blame the God who loves you.
A woman giving birth to a child.
She has pain because her time has come.
When her baby is finally born,
She forgets her anguish due to her joy.
Good came out of the Holocaust.
The nation of Israel was formed.
Good came out of Pharoah’s heart being hardened.
The people of Israel were set free.
God uses evil for His own purpose.
God is always up to something good.
What shall we say then?
Is there injustice with God?
Absolutely not!
He will have mercy on whom He wills.
He will compassion on whom He wills.
We don’t know why…we don’t need to!
His goal has always been to redeem us.
To reconcile us to Himself.
God offers peace to His enemies.
They choose it not.
He sent His Son to bridge the gap.
He was rejected and still is.
It is His promise to us still.
Christ will return one day.
With “the sword of the Lord”.
His weapon is the Word of God.
He will defeat evil in a great final battle.
His final act of love to a fallen creation.
Until Christ does return to take us home,
We remain in a fallen world.
We remain in a fallen condition.
But we are not without Hope!
We have that Hope in Christ
And in Christ alone!
We may not always have understanding.
The potter is not the clay.
God offers us: His peace!
His comfort!
His Healing!
Nothing can separate us from His love!
He is God…our loving creator.
We need only to trust Him.
We won’t always know why!
