Leadership
COME DOWN AND BE BROKEN

An advert I saw years ago which said "the way up is down" left an indelible impression on me, such that till now, I’ve not recovered from it. These five words got me pondering then and even till now. As I have gained experience in different aspects of life and related with the scriptures and its Author, I discover that indeed the way up is down. The Lord Jesus Christ severally taught that a master must serve; the leader is the servant (not even a chief servant). If a leader is primarily called to serve and not to be served, then it is pertinent to try and know who a leader really is.A leader is someone with big, broad and strong shoulders to carry the strong and weak among the lead, to the predetermined destination. A leader is the man/woman with the four classes of sights, all working in perfect and flawless condition. The sights are: hindsight (to review and learn from the past mistakes and successes); foresight (to look ahead and see farther than others); insight (to look deep into men and situations, to gain understanding and thus know beyond the others being lead); eyesight (to physically see details about things and men that ordinary eyes can not see or details that are even hidden). A leader is the individual you see ahead, beside and behind you at any point in time. He has ears that listen, heart that is large enough to fully accommodate the strong and the wimps. A leader is someone who is dependable, trustworthy, accountable, responsible, just, righteous, merciful, faithful, tender, kind and a healed man.In manifesting his leadership qualities, he is never ashamed to handle the towel and bend down to wash the feet of others. He does not accept or delight in titles, positions, paraphernalia of office and other public attention.
But so sad that today, titles and positions have become so big, even bigger than the man himself and his character. Through these titles men now see nothing wrong in amassing titles that are more or less a competition with the God of all the earth. Some sacred attributes of God and divine endowments from the Throne have become titles men boast about, smile about and are happy to be called by. This would not have meant anything if such, men have corresponding anointing that is powerful and potent enough to ravage hell, release men from the clutches from diverse forms of addiction, bondage, health challenges, poverty, oppression etc. and thus enlarge God's holy Kingdom.
This generation is fast becoming so title and position crazy that it is becoming a slippery death trap for the unwise. Worst still, even the ministers of the gospel are not spared from this craze. Many of them now consciously and directly demand to be worshiped according to the size of their positions and titles. Failure to be worshiped like this makes many of them feel ridiculed, disgraced, reproached, belittled and downgraded. I ask such men of God, before your title got so big, what are the things you joyfully do for God without blinking, that you can’t do again now? What sacrifice did you make to enlarge the Kingdom then that your new position and title has taken away from you? With your new position and title, can you confidently say you're enlarging and establishing the Kingdom now or doing all you can to build and strengthen your personal empire? In Genesis 1:31, everything God made was very good; in Genesis 6:5-6, He had begun to regret and become grieved in His heart for creating man. Which Chapter of your life are you now? Are you in Chapter One of your Genesis, tending towards or actually in Chapter Six?
How beautiful and lovely it’ll be if all the trendy suits and other garments are a reflection of inner righteousness and trendy flow of life transforming, liberating and hell razing anointing. But men look trendy outside, but inwardly they are putrid and rotten; some are either ex-anointed or "un-anointed". If only some of them will see and listen to heaven, they’ll discover the depth of sadness and headache they are causing heaven. God is declaring some positions held by such men vacant, therefore heaven is seeking for neighbors as capable replacements. The Lord made it clear that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. To crosscheck the level of a man’s rottenness, listen to him speak and do a thorough x-ray of his words. By listening to him, you’ll deduce every other thing about him. A man that is vulgar and can say anything without blinking is a man that lacks the most important of all self-controls. A man that calls those under him names, insults them, curses them (directly or indirectly) should know assuredly that the enemy has been given a foothold in his life, and will ensure that your anointing and grace (slowly without your consciousness) drains away. Have you wondered why you have so much action and words, yet little anointing to show for it? This aptly explains why the world is sliding towards anarchy and certain doom, going by the quiet and obvious evils being displayed everywhere in the world today, without any form of restraint and with caution thrown to the winds.
Where were you years ago with God and where are you now? The best way to measure your level of growth over the years is to use the improvement and growth in your character and not your charisma. The growth of your charisma does not mean you’ve grown spiritually. Your charisma may grow because of the people’s ceaseless intercession for you or supplication for God’s intervention in their lives (you simply become a borrowed vessel to reach out to them). But your character is a matter of your personal choice, walk with God and dealings by God. Your charisma may qualify you for a big big medal as one of the best borrowed vessel around; it is your character that qualifies you to hear "welcome good and faithful servant". Be bold to acknowledge your failure and not explain them away. Explaining them away was the great undoing of men beginning from Adam.
God’s trumpet of a turning point is sounding so loud like never before, for He intends and loves to visit the world through you in a way that will leave you and the entire world astounded and perplexed. For this turning point and visitation to be, please you’ve to consciously come down from your high and exalted position and title. The lowly Saviour is down here with the ordinary folks, blessing and accepting them; come down to meet Him there. Do you know that every passing second, you’re winding up? Be wise; do yourself this favour, and come down to meet the broken Lord! He resists the proud and looks at them afar off. Are you strong enough for the Saviour to deal with you afar off and resist you? Your pride and ego has turned you into a witch that must be feared, worshiped and obeyed no matter what; you’re now so far gone that you’re not just becoming an idolater, but you’re becoming an idol yourself. Does any witch, idol, idolater have any part in the Kingdom? Please come down and be broken. Remember you’re the clay and He’s the potter. Be broken so that you can and will actually enjoy and be part of the coming visitation of God in this generation. Let it ring out loud and clear in your heart that you must come down and be broken!
