Here's one of two letters I found in an envelope
postmarked Oct 13, 1970. One letter is to my great grandmother and the other is to my mother. Neither letter has a date on them.

Dear Grandma

I like your letter
you wrote me. Maxine called
and said they were coming
down about the end of the
month. I'am watching the bill
cosby Show. It's about bill
cosby trying to find that
little boy. Hows brein? will
you read this letter to him
when you have time. How is
everyone? Grandma I love
you. Well what's happening
around their. I found this
chick She sure is good
looking. She is a nice girl.
I like are junior high.
Hows Bernie and Ronnie?
Just let me know how everythin
gs going. I hope you come up

It's beutiful. I been working
very hard in the yards. Grand
ma Maxine is here. I wrote
this letter to you 5 days ago.
Maxine and George came
since then. Snoopy's having
a good time with Samatha.

This letter must have been written when I was in
fifth grade (1968) because I reference the fact
that it is my best report card and I recall that
was when I was in fifth grade at El Rancho Verde
in Hayward, CA.


Dear Mom

I love you very much. I went skiing
up in the snow it was very fun,. I hope
I will be seeing you soon because I
miss you very much. How has your
christmas been? I hope you liked my
present I gave you. Mom I hav been doing
good in school. You should see my report
card I am very proud of it. I got three
a's around five B's and around
six or seven outstandings and satis
factory this is the very best report
card I've ever had. Well I better
say good-by. by
