God’s Tally
When God calls to account
What we have done on earth –
He will note everything
From the day of our birth…
When God asks us
To give an account
Of every word and deed --
Will we be able to answer
Yes when He summoned
Us to act on behalf
Of others in need…
When God presents the tally
To you as well as me --
How do you think
We will answer and seal
Our fate for all eternity…
I ponder this thought
Each and every day --
And seek a moment
To moment answer
When I humbly pray…
God’s tally will not
Include the dollar green --
It will not include
Our appearance upon life’s scene --
What is will contain
Will be the basic service
We have provided
To others upon this mass
We humanly call earth --
Included will be
A detailed account
From the day of our birth.©
