Faith

I rejoice out loud with love for my Lord
as I bask in the glory of His unchanging word.
Arousing from my bed in the early morning
since He is the One for whom I do sing.

Joy takes hold of my entire being
as I have faith in Him without really seeing.
He will never fail in all that He ordains
and His blessings pour forth like new Spring rains.

Peace comes in with a flood of tears
this earth growing dim as to Him I draw near;
and hear His voice calling to me so sweet and low
revealing the secrets that He wants me to know.

And though I listen as intently as I can
His voice is drowned by the sounds of man.
Softly I hear the sweet whispers of grace
that call to me from a much loftier place.

But His Spirit is strong, and fights in my place
though the war has been won, the battles still rage.
His Spirit shields me from the swords of the flesh
Guarding my heart from wounds that cause death.

So I continue to cling to the One I hold dear;
under His wings with His face so near.
Touching Him in prayer with the songs of my life
and He keeps me through the darkest of nights.

Gratefully, I surrender all earthly cares
as I see His unchanging love declared;
for I am mysteriously His child and His bride
and eternally He waits with His arms open wide.
