GIVING AND RECEIVING, THE ESSENCE OF LIFE.


Giving and receiving is the essence of life.
Like a flutist playing the melodious fife,
And just as life's breath is in and out,
The Almighty ordained the breathing route.
God's breath is a perpetual motion;
An action involuntary like a love potion;
To stop breathing is to stop living.
You receive as you keep giving.
Once breathe ceases life also ceases.
Give love and your 'lovers' increase.
Spread hate and 'enemies' multiply.
"Good measure, pressed down,
Shaken together and running over"
Seek for grace and God will supply.
Giving the Lord's way is pretty important.
In it is life and life more abundant.
We all sooner discover, nay perceive,
"It is more blessed to give than to receive"
Much as a lonely selfish fool,
is akin to a stinking stagnant pool,
Devoid of love is a life of strife.
Giving and receiving the essence of life.

How much did we give the Father,
Before he gave us the Son?
And what did the Savior take,
Before sending the Spirit of Truth?
Give we must, as God gives,
In love and for a good purpose;
Most cheerfully, some sacrificially;
True you can't give what you don't have,
Yet there is always something to give.
Even the widow gave more by giving all
Given in love it's not soon forgotten.
Just like holding precious breathe,
Receiving without giving sooner suffocates.
