Isaiah 35:8, “And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The Way Of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools shall not err therein.”

Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14-Because strait (narrow) is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.”

I Kings 18:21, And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Ba’-al, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”

Deut.30:19, “I call heaven and earth to record (witness) this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.”

VISION THE TWO HIGHWAYS:
===========================
I saw a highway that stretched out as far as I could see. I automatically knew this was the “highway of holiness the Bible talks about.” It was straight and it was narrow. So narrow that people had to form a line in order to walk it. Where natural highways have a yellow streak running down the middle of it---on this highway, what would be the streak was gold. It was what the people were walking on. As I watched the people moving along on this highway, though there was a lot of people, it wasn’t crowded by no means.

Next to this first highway was a second highway---like a fork in the road. It seemed to split off from the first one and it was going in another direction. It was crowded with people of all nationalities, races, sizes, and all ages, young and old alike. These two highways were so close together that some of the people on the second highway was trying to walk on both highways at once (straddling the fence). In between these two highways there was what looked like a shallow ditch. Because people were trying to walk on both these highways at once, their walk was unstable. They would loose their balance and end up in the ditch (valley of decision).

GARMENTS OF WHITE:
======================
The people who were walking in single file on the narrow highway wore white garments (garments of salvation and righteousness). The other people seemed to have on different outfits of street clothes. When these people had fallen in the ditch, I saw them get to their feet and try to clean themselves up (brushing off dirt, represents trying to clean one’s self up, our righteousness is as filthy rags before God--only the blood of Jesus can clean).

As these people trued to clean themselves up, I saw some of them glance over at the people on the highway of holiness with near longing and sadness on their faces. I sense that this was because of the choice they were making, even though they knew about the highway of holiness that leads to life). So, instead of trying to get on the highway of holiness, going God’s way and the way of life, they chose to get back on the broad highway. As I looked at the two highways and the people even closer, I saw that the distinctive difference between the two was that the narrow highway was light---lighted with the glory of God. And the broad highway was dimness and darkness.

BAGGAGE:
=============
The people wearing the white garments were not carrying anything with them in their hands. I knew they would be receiving some things once they got to their destination. The people on the broad highway were weighted down with heavy backpacks of worry, fear, unbelief, bitterness, unforgiveness, confusion, etc. Other’s were carrying piles of clothes in their arms. I sensed that some of these were still in the grip of grief over the death of a loved one. So much so that the deceased person was being carried around now as an idol.

Then, suddenly, I saw a young man of about 20 years old come whizzing by some people on roller blades. His shoulders were bent in concentration. He had a crash helmet on and his eyes were focused in the direction of his future. The only problem was, his focus was set in the way of darkness, death and destruction. “The thief comes but for to steal, kill and to destroy, but I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). “There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is the ways of death” (Prov.14:12).

This young man thought he still had plenty of time yet to have fun and be carefree. One day, he would get on the highway of holiness but chances were, it would be too late. Most everyone I saw on this broad highway was carrying something, from the smallest things such as pets, to birdcages, to shoeboxes. And from suitcases, big and small to briefcases and bags. All representing things of the past as well as things of the present that they are still holding on to because they believe they’re so important. Jesus said, “Cast all your care upon me, for I care for you” (I Pet.5:7).

COMMENTS:
==============
I believe the message of this vision is very clear. The people who were trying to walk on both highways are God’s people who haven’t made a total decision to follow God with all their hearts. They were the one’s who looked with a longing and a sadness at the people who were traveling the ‘Highway Of Holiness.’ It was obvious to see from their facial expressions that they desired to be totally on God’s highway.

They turned instead to continue on the broad highway because it required less effort, less sacrifice (of self) of the things they esteemed as more important. These are the one’s who have a “form of religion but deny the power therein.” Church’s are full of these people. Also, they carried their rewards. Whereas, the people on the Highway Of Holiness were coming to the place in their ‘sold out’ walk with Jesus to where they would receive glorious rewards.

I believe the young man represents life, as it were, in the “fast lane” regardless of age. For the fact that he was on roller blades is obviously speaking of sports. Sports all across our land has not only become a big money-making industry but Satan has used it to draw people unto himself and away from God. Sports, and sports figures, have been lifted up to lofty places and have been idolized. People are known to worship at the shrine of sports arenas or before the TV set all over the world, giving verbal praise and homage to the hero’s of their worship and to the game. Jesus told Satan in the wilderness, “Thou shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.” That strong word was not only spoken to the enemy of our souls, but it was a strong word to all people as well.

I also believe the young man who was occupied with his sport is representative of the lure of the god of entertainment. Satan has stolen people’s attention away from the God of the universe through all forms of the media, from movies to home video’s and video games, to rock concerts, to the Internet where people have become entangled in the entertainment web of pornography, games, gambling, romance and gossip. Bottom line, people all over want to be entertained and in their restlessness, they’re easy prey for the devil to lure them to worship the god of entertainment.

God wants His people to rejoice and enjoy life to the fullest. Jesus said, I’ve come to give you life to the fullest degree. Jesus was a man of joy. He laughed more than what you might think. He went to wedding feasts and many other feasts where it was a time of celebration. But He also cautioned His disciples to come apart from all things and rest, not only physically but rest spiritually in Him through quiet communion. Thus, God said, “Be still and know that I am God.” This young man represents people from all walks of life in a tremendous hurry to get nowhere fast, because where you’re heading is a dead-end street.

One other thing that stood out to me as I watched this young man speed by the other people on the broad highway. His focus was only on himself and his own pleasure. He never acknowledged, or even noticed the ‘Highway Of Holiness' or anyone else in his path. I never saw him glance at the other highway once. He was bent (determined) to go his own way and ignore the way of the Lord.

Quite possibly he thought he had plenty of time before he had to make such a choice as to get on the ‘Highway Of Holiness’ once he gave his heart to Jesus. Perhaps he thought he wanted to have fun and enjoy himself first and he would commit himself to Christ later on in his life. That's a dangerous thing to do because there comes a point where time’s up. Your time has run out. God loves the people of the whole world so much and it grieves His heart to see anyone reject His Son, Jesus and the blood He so freely shed to save all who are lost (John 3:16).

Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost, and God wishes for none to perish but ALL to have eternal life. That's why He sent Jesus into the world as our sacrificial Lamb, Who would take our sins and pay the price for our salvation. “Today is the day of salvation.” Not tomorrow because tomorrow could very well be too late. So, I say to you today that God loves you beyond any degree that you can imagine and wants to bring all people to be reconciled to Himself and to have relationship restored with Him.

Prayer:
==========
If you’re one of those people who are trying to walk an unbalanced Christian walk with God and you’re straddling the fence of decision---you keep falling in the ditch, I invite you to pray with me today. If you’re one of those who have been lured away from God by the things of the world and you’re away from God, I invite you to pray with me. If you are one of those people who hasn’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but you think you will later after you do some things you want to do first, I also invite you to pray with me.

Father,
In the precious name of Your Son, Jesus, I come before You this day to hold up these who have said, ‘this is me you’re talking about and I need prayer.’ I ask you Father, that you would pour out your love now upon each and every one. Let them experience the reality of your unconditional love for them that they would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are a loving and kind heavenly Father. And that you want nothing more than to draw them into your bosom to shower your love upon them---to bind up their wounds and heal their broken hearts.

I pray for those, Lord Jesus, whose spiritual houses are divided between two opinions---between whole-heartedly serving you or continuing to serve two masters. I ask Father that you would bring them into wholeness, spirit, soul and body. Sever all ties they have to past things such as old painful memories, set them free this day, I pray. Set them free by your mighty power that they may choose life and blessing. Help them by your Holy Spirit to turn away from everything of the enemy that has led them in his ways and not your ways.

Help them to come into your holy presence and receive forgiveness. Help each one who is in the valley of decision to choose your highway of holiness. Enable them by your grace and truth to walk this narrow way that will lead them to the Zoe life of God. I ask that you cleanse their minds by your Word and by your Holy Spirit, destroying old destructive and fruitless thought patterns that are contrary to your Word. Lead them by Your Spirit into all truth as their minds are renewed to your Word.

Lord Jesus, I ask You to give them courage and boldness to not only walk, but to remain on Your highway of holiness and bring others into your Kingdom. Anoint and empower them as Your ambassador’s to show others the way of liberating freedom and life in Christ Jesus, worshiping Him in the beauty of His holiness. I thank you, Father, that even now, Your Holy Spirit is going forth to hover over these people who are making quality, life-changing and eternal decisions for You. Praise Your holy name for each one who says a resounding “yes!” to You. Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, Your Word declares to me that I can come to You and I won’t be cast out or aside, but that you will hear my hearts cry and answer me. Your Word also declares that because of the blood of Jesus and Your love, I can come with confidence and assurance to Your throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace in my time of need (Heb.4:16).

By faith, I put my confidence in Your Word and the blood of Jesus to come asking that you have mercy on me and that by Your grace I can be saved, I can be forgiven, I can be reconciled to You, I can be restored in right relationship with you and be made whole. I asked your forgiveness for all sin in my life, past and present. I ask to be washed clean and made white as snow by the blood of Jesus.

Jesus, I recognize and acknowledge that You are the Son of God, that you died for me, you were buried and you rose from the dead on the third day. I ask you to come into my heart now and save me and be my Lord. I give my whole heart and life to you. Fill me to over-flowing with Your Holy Spirit and use me for Your glory. I receive You now into my heart, Jesus. Thank You for loving me and for saving me. Amen.

SHOUT IT FROM THE HOUSETOP!
===============================
If you prayed to receive Jesus as your personal Savior, then you need to do one more thing. You need to tell somebody. “For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).


And God’s promise to all His children who stray from Him is found in II Chronicles 7:14, “If My people, which are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land.”

And this as well found in I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

These are beautiful promises to all of us who are God’s children and who get off His track now and then to follow the dictates of our own hearts instead of His. God is not slack in fulfilling His promises to us when we do our part, which is repentance and obedience and when we do these things, it brings blessing upon our lives and not cursing. God is a blessing God, and I say now, be blessed in Jesus name. Amen.
