Back in the 1970’s (yes, I remember them) there was a TV show hosted by Bob Barker (The Price is Right guy) called 'Truth or Consequences.' If you chose not to answer a question truthfully, you'd suffer the consequences by being compelled to engage in some embarrassing activity.

In a unique way, we all are playing God's version of 'Truth or Consequences' every day. We have the truth of God's word to guide us and direct us. Therein we are warned to steer clear of certain behaviors and attitudes. We are encouraged to embrace and participate in others.

By divine right we can choose how we live our lives. We can choose whether or not to live within the confines of God's truth. But if we choose not to, there will always be consequences. Some of them are rendered in this life, some in the next--sometimes both. "Be not deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that is what he will reap."--Galatians 6:7

"Lord, help me to live my life within the confines of your truth and not suffer the consequences of venturing away from the safety and guidance of your divine hand. Amen."
