I was driving in my car with no direction.
I was feeling cold as winter pierced the air.
As a song came on the radio the tears flowed-
because they sang to me like they were really there.

The words told me that I was someone special-
who deserved to feel a smile now and then.
And as I parked my car and looked out of the window
I saw them fly and wished I were one of them.

They flew so high- on wings of white.
So many did their dance of glorious flight.
Like a flower bloomed above me- I could feel it in the air.
It was then I finally saw the message there.
Unclip those wings my child and fly into the air.

I sat for just a moment trying to gather-
all my thoughts and wipe the tears off of my face.
I was looking for an answer and I got it-
through the power and the love of Divine Grace.

I'd seen birds before but never quite like this-
It was if they had been waiting there for me.
And if I didn't look I would have missed it.
The very thing that God had wanted me to see.
